Install Ad Block!

Depends on the browser you use. Google, Safari, and Firefox offer Ad-Blocker as an add on that eliminates all of them. Don't think IE has anything similar but haven't used it in years so don't know.

Thanks, Linda & Dave. I usually use Google Chrome to log into GW and it installed fine. I'll give it a try.

I have a popup blocker installed and it doesn't get rid of it. It's the most annoying thing about this site and sours my enjoyment of the GardenWeb forum. Sure, you can get rid of it by logging in, but I don't log in unless I have something to post. They installed something equally annoying a few months back...similar to Pinterest where they block the page unless you register or sign in. They got rid of that, thank goodness.

What pop ups? I use Firefox.

I use google chrome. I log in automatically. I never get pop ups.

I installed Ad Block and it seems to be working. No pop-ups today!

This has literally been the most annoying thing I've ever dealt with on the Internet. EVER. & I weathered prodigy as a teenage girl. I just signed up so I wouldn't have to deal with the horrid grey screen that pops up right when I'm finding the answer to a question. Every time. Then scroll back to the top try to click no thank you. Have to reload because that doesn't work only to have it happen again. I really didn't want to sign up I didn't want this awfully disgusting shameful advertising to work. But alas I love my garden too much to protest for longer than a week. Still. What a disgraceful way to suly such a beautifully wonderous source of communal knowledge. It burns me that it worked.
