Hi Everyone,
I just painted my room a passion fruit purple color. I would like some suggestions on duvets to get for my room. I'm looking for mature look that will add balance to the room. Please help!

That color is atrocious but if I were to try and help this situation I might suggest a light grey duvet cover in a subtle print. The color is 'loud' on its own so you don't need a graphic print I believe.

I love the color you chose for your walls! My daughter recently painted her room about the same color (she loves purple). I would look for a bedding set that has white, black, or silvery gray for the background with maybe just a little purple in it. Here are some ideas:

Black and white would also look stunning with the wall color!

To keep it restful, I would stick with a plain white duvet, white linen or sheer drapes, and colorful artwork.

It's generally more efficient to pick your duvet first, then your paint. Go green.

Are you seeking a modern look or more cottage? It would help to see the furniture too. Do you have a rug?

I love your choice of color! A crisp white for the bedding and possibly white sheers at the window would be so refreshing.

IKEA has a wonderful duvet, all white, that we purchased recently for a good price! I think I'd go for all-white as well, and a lime green throw.

Do not listen to the critics! Lovely color! I'd stick with white, black and gray for bedding, and artwork with purple, and black as minor elements, and green, orange, and cobalt blue as the main colors. Please post photos when you've decided. And remember people, unless you sleep with the lights on, all rooms are black at night! Doesn't matter what color the walls are.

I was going to say the same as teamaltese. I love that purple. I would go with bright crisp white and lavender or grey accents. Good for you going with a color you enjoy.

P.S. everdebz Athena cotton. The white one with the black stitching would give you are real elegant look.

I think of you have pink walls then a white bedding should go nice together. Not sure though

i like the pottery barn black background botanical that grover posted the best.

Well that certainly is purple. I would stick to off white/ cream bedding. Don't skimp here as when using a color like this it can look a bit cheap or childlike if your not careful. On the other hand with the right choices it can look rich and sophisticated too! I would suggest B&B art and a clean palette to make this work. This bedding by RL.

Now that it's been said I really like the idea of silver or maybe pewter with that color. It would be more dramatic. A nod to the old Hollywood style.

Love the colour! I did my daughters room that colour in our last house. I used cream and silver as the accents. I really liked the glam look.

They might just be taking it all in. Give it time. It's a lot to process when it's all chucked at you. Especially when you get the obligatory comment insulting your taste.

Carla- it happens on every post someone feels the need to be rude because they can. Don't take it to heart most of us are sincere.

Love love love the colour!! I'd go simple and start slowly with accessories. Decide what look you're going for: glamour, shabby chic, simple etc. Personally I'd start very simply and you might find it enough. It could feel super relaxing and open. Maybe not too much clutter. Definitely add texture (and think about pattern or not). For texture I'd think linens or a carpet, or blinds. All in neutral colour probably a little off white to natural linen shades. Coyuchi makes beautiful bedding. Your colour would look amazing with any of the natural colours in linen or cotton. Beautiful simple duvets if that style appeals to you. Anthropologie may also have ideas. A silver framed mirror could look great. Also silver chandelier?? Enjoy the lovely colour!

If you want your room to be warm then I would recommend black and purple duvets with some white pillows with inspirational quotes on them.
If you want it to be bright and open then I would recommend using white and purple duvets with some light colored pillows.
