rats, squirrels, rabbits or even deer . Where are you located that would help. Just because you have them covered, critters can still get under the net

I'm in Santa Cruz CA. I'm guessing it is squirrels. They are sneaky little pests. It's just strange because the are destroying the plants, chewing right through the stems but not eating anything. ..or so it seems. Just making me crazy! I've grown tomatoes the same way for years here and this is new. Argh!

If they aren't eating fruit, they are making nests. Rats or squirrels. Put some snap traps out and see what you get! Put peanut butter in for bait, or something that will attract the varmint!

I would set traps .

I suspect rats. Probably they are doing this to get some water, and not for food.

Try filling a bucket 3/4 full with a ramp going to it. Thirst rats will fall ind and drawn.

I'm having a problem with something eating my figs, and my hubby is gone fishing!! Jeeze! You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille!! Anyway, my solution tonight was I soaked a dishrag in 100% ammonia and wrapped it around the tree. Get a whiff of that, Bucko!! See if you'll ever smell anything ever again!! Grrrrrrrrrrr

Put regular mouse traps on top of the soil in the containers. No bait, just set. Eventually, the animal will bump into one and remember the lesson.

I had a problem with squirrels digging holes in pot soil but no more.
