kind of a over reseeding piece of junk tree in my MI ... see them lining the highways for miles ...

that they popped up that close to the house.. indicates the seed shot out of some birds butt as it perched on your gutter ... hence the spreading of seed everywhere ...

get rid of them.. imo ... as they are not great landscape plants ...

ken

BTW.. a native down south.. and the center of what might be called the cedar fence post and bark industries ... but they still are not landscape plants ....

The super narrow growing ones could be nice in the landscape but there are much better things to grow. I pull a ton of them out of my beds with the weeds.

I was super excited to replant somewhere else in the yard until I did the research

Ok so maybe you can help identify the type of maple tree I have and also what the other tree is. I bought these from Arbor Day and they sent me the wrong things I was supposed to get a Japanese maple and a red maple

deborah, first tree is something in the rose family -- prb'ly some type of cherry. Second is good ol' silver maple.

Arbor Day is notorious for sending wrong species....
