Roses after last week's heat

It was about 100 degrees last week but here are some roses that seemingly liked the heat.

Paradise Found - not as bicolor as in previous blooms but still showing color contrast.

Best Kept Secret is still in a pot, can't wait to see how this rose does in the ground. So far it's very healthy and likes to bloom.

All American Magic is getting ready to put out a second flush. I have it planted under a pine tree so I don't think it gets quite the amount of sun it needs, but puts out a lot of blooms with each flush.

Tahitian Sunset is another rose just planted in the spring and starting to grow. I think it's been waiting for hotter weather like we just had.

Charles de Gaulle - I got this as a band and it's now about a 2 gallon sized plant putting out quite a few buds. I hope to have a nearly full-sized bush next year given its growth rate. So far, I think this is my favorite fragrant lavender rose.

Mitsouko is a highly variable rose with colors ranging from white, yellow, pink and orange. Here it is as a whitish rose, but see how different it can be from the photo just below.

Gertrude Jekyll in her second flush. I'm appreciating this rose so much more in her second full year.

Scepter'd Isle - I keep waiting for this rose to grow into a bigger bush but since I moved her this past spring, I'll need to wait until next year to see that happen. The blooms are getting bigger.

Charles Rennie Macintosh - I went on a garden tour this past spring and saw an 8-10 ft version of this rose, as tall as the house it was planted next to. I just planted mine this spring and it seems like a fast grower. Love the lavender/mauve color!

      The color nuances of 'Tahitian Sunset' are lovely.

      Aha, so Charles Rennie M. does become huge in mild winters!

      I'm glad to hear someone else like Gertrude J. I keep thinking how I could squeeze her in. So very attractive.

      Thanks to you all! Just wanted to add that my Olivia Rose Austin did quite well last week in 100 degree temps as she's getting bigger. She's blooming in clusters at the top of three 2ft+ stems. You can only see two of the three stems in the photo below. It may look like the back cluster is a separate plant but it's from the same bush.

      Not sure I like this growth pattern but it's only the first year. Is anybody else's ORA growing like this?

      No problem after 100 degrees - I'm amazed!

      Mitsouku is beautiful! Would you mind commenting on the bush growth? Is it tall and spindly like some HTs or more of a shrub?

      Hi Robin - Here's a photo of Mitsouko I took over a month ago. It's basically the same shape today as when I took it, just bigger. It seems to be mostly shrubby but with a few spindly canes.

      Wow your Gertrude Jekyll is gorgeous mine still looks miserable after four years( I think) this might be due to the zone am in, I really do like Paradise Found I hope I found one Soon..lol
