identify weed

I have this weed growing in my lawn. I thought it was nutsedge, so i hit it with some SedgeHammer and it turned a little yellow, just never killed it. I didn't hit it again, I am not assuming it's not nutsedge, since the blades are thick, unlike nutsedge. Any idea. I live in South Jersey which is Zone 4. If you know what it is, what can i use to get rid of it? Maybe it is nutsedge and I just need to treat it a few times.

It's not nutsedge, that I can tell you. Quackgrass maybe?

I looked into Quackgrass and they have a leaf that starts about half way up the stem, this does not have that, it is a solid blade the entire way

Just got home and got a much closer look at this weed and it just might be quackgrass. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Give it some fertilizer and wait a couple of weeks, then hit it with RoundUp. Sorry, no selective control options. You can use a small paintbrush to paint glyphosate directly on the leaves if you want to minimize damage to surrounding grass. It will take multiple applications, it's a stubborn SOB.
