Concerning Crape Myrtles

I have 3 different varieties of Crape Myrtle. Five Natchez, three Tonto. And then I have 3 of another variety that I never got the name on and they have red blooms. All of them are blooming fantastic this year, best year ever. The Natchez are huge, Tonto pretty big. Overall all are doing great except for the red ones. These also are not as big so it might be a smaller variety. But I went out to cut off the spent blooms hoping they might re-bloom. (Sometimes they will.) There are a lot of dead tips on these. They're not dying or in bad shape but just not as healthy as the other 2 varieties. Now it could be that since they are far away from the house they aren't looked after as well but I did kick them some fertilizer early in the Spring. Again, nothing wrong with the blooming, just not as vigorous. Can't see any signs of bug or disease on them, either. Any ideas?
