Help with southern blight

I have been having major trouble with southern blight this year. I have found it in 3 of my raised beds and I have found it in some of my container plants. SO far it has killed tomatoes, beans, sunflowers, peppers, and I just noticed some on my sunchokes. I have been carefully removing plants with the disease and tossing them in the trash (it feels so strange not to compost). I am solarizing the soil that I have found the blight in after removing plants. Does anyone have any suggestions to spot this awful fungus? I live in Savannah GA and we have had temps around 100 for the past several weeks which it seems the fungus thrives in it. Thanks in advance for any help!
