They were about 5" high. We had 10 now we are down to none. The critter left the leaves and just chewed the stems down to the ground. We can't figure it out. We grow cantaloupe every year and this has never happened before. About 5 years ago we had a squirrel that ate the baby cantaloupe and he met death. Never touched the plant. So our choices are squirrel, rabbit( have never seen one around in our 10 years) lizard maybe not sure. Javalena???? None have been around for at least 8 years. We know its not birds they like the rest of all the fruit tree fruit to bother with this. A small apple fell off the tree and something chewed on it, ate about half. Does anyone have an idea. Thanks for any suggestions.
