you'll probably need to go farther from this than you think, just because the rug will reflect on the walls a bit and make the paint even bluer than the sample seems.

look for a paint with more yellowish undertones if you want the contrast to be clear -- either greenish or even toward taupe, almost like the pattern on your rug.

I do have a gray paint on the walls of my entryway and living room that has no undertones but I also have very light (almost white) carpet that may make a difference. It is Classic Silver from Behr paints. No matter what time of day or light, it always looks gray!
