Will Irish moss grow up a Norwegian Maple?

10 years ago

I have a large Norwegian Maple tree in my backyard that provides wonderful shape; however, I cannot get a lawn to grow under it. Would Irish Moss in this shady spot? Will moss extend out into my lawn in the partially shady parts of my yard?
