Getting close to the end and I need to make a choice on the crown. We are using a simple 5ish inch cove molding throughout the house. I was originally going to continue with the same around the top of the cabinets but i am kind of liking the look of the soffit plus a little frieze and then the crown. The other issue I have is I think the 5" may look a little out of proportion right next to the top of the cabs. I was thinking of going from the 5" on the cabs down to a 2 1/2" and then I could achieve the gap between the soffit and the crown that I was looking for. The ceilings are 8' I have 2 cabinets that go from counter to ceiling and 2 uppers and a hood enclosure. Both the cabinet crown and the house crown will be painted the same color. Is it going to look weird changing the size of the cove for around the cabinets if I can cope the smaller to the larger? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any insight....even it its "you are off your rocker don't do it".
