in my experience.. roughly transplanted raspberries dont do much.. or look that great the year or moving ...

nearer towards fall ... you should see the sprouts that will be next years canes ...

any given cane on a R is biennial ....so this is the end for this one ... basically what you did.. was get a root system for the future ...

the rest just looks like what a R would look like in summer.. in my estimate .. and i see no necessary remedy ...

that is last years cane ... and it is winding down .. and would be removed this fall or next spring ...

and due to the process ... the leaves just get uglier.. and uglier.. until its so ugly.. you just cut it down in fall ... see how that works ... lol ... [after i was sure it wasnt a fall rebloomer]

i would never treat a second year cane ...in any sense of trying to fix a leaf problem ...

and i wouldnt expect any berries the first year.. but if i got a couple.. i would be pleasantly surprised ...

Thank you! I was worried it had some kind of disease. I put it next to a marion berry and was afraid it would kill it. It was given to me three weeks ago and re- planted it one week ago, it just looks worse and I thought the weird white bugs had something to do with it. It has one berry on a longer branch that looks like it's not going to do anything. I'm not sure how old it is but it's not very big. Are you saying that I can cut the whole thing back in fall and it should grow back? Thanks again for your help!!

if you grow the roots.. the plant will follow ...

just watch for a new shoot.. and when you see it.. this one can go ... but i would default to spring .. until you learn the system ...

every leaf is a food making machine .. regardless of how ugly it looks ....and since yours was just transplanted.. lets leave this one there.. as long as we can to feed the roots.. to grow the plant ...

you can barely kill these things .. as long as your water it this year ... so dont overthink it all ... nor worry about it ...
