Cucumber disease

last modified: 10 years ago

I am growing some cucumber plants in a box I built and am training them with a trellis. The plants are probably about a month and a half old. They were growing great until something struck them and is spreading like wildfire. The leaves are dying and have white spots and brown patches. The problem started from the bottom of the plant and has been continuing its way up. At least 90% of the leaves have the disease and it is getting to the new leaves daily. I have sprayed with "GardenSafe Fungicide 3" and that did nothing. I then made my own with water, veggie oil, and baking soda and that did not help. The leaves are dying rapidly and soon I'll be left with nothing. There is quite a bit of fruit and it they are growing well with no infection on them at all. Does anybody have a suggestion of what it is and how I can organically treat it? I grew cucumbers in this same box 3 years ago and nothing like this happened then. It is for the most part new dirt in the box as well ( a lot of compost ).
