Hi, I am a beginner with growing cactus from seeds.I'm getting my cactus seeds in a few days. I was wondering if anyone here got a detailed instruction of how to grow cactus seeds (at home).

I have read some articles and posts from different webpages and I have decided on 50% peat moss and 50% sand but I'm not sure about the details like the size of sand, what to use for drainage at the bottom (perlite qualifies? or larger sand?)

My seeds are mainly from Astrophytum family. I intend to use shallow rectangular transparent containers putting them in Zip Kip translucent plastic pags under good daylight (not direct sun).

Benomyl will be my fungicide to prepare the soil before dropping the seeds on it. From what I have read double dose should be used to sterilize the soil and containers before planting seeds, leaving it for a day and washing it with cooled kettle water the next day.

Also I am going to warm up my soil mixture in microwave (dunno about time and temprature yet)

I would be glad to have your advice on each factor to get the best results (possible at home)
