Garage must be brick- What are my options

Hello,

I just moved to a subdivision with an HOA. The HOA requires that any detached garages built must be of the same exterior as the home, so about 50/50 brick and vinyl. I know real brick construction is normally pretty expensive. Are there other, less costly options?

Maybe you can use brick for the front (not much area there), and siding for the back and sides.

That is certainly a possibility. What I am curious about is if there are new, less expensive ways to get a brick facade. Or is that even with all the new products out simulating stone and brick it is still cheapest to just use real brick?

No review board per se. I submit the planned garage to the HOA president for review. That is very informal. I think my question is more about costs related to brick vs. faux brick etc.
