Paint color help - please!

We built our home 2 years ago and I love the polished crema marfil backsplash in our kitchen - BUT - I do not like the SW Kilim Beige paint throughout my open floorplan home. Yes, it goes perfectly with the backsplash, cabinets and warm tones throughout my home but the paint color runs too yellow for me at times. I have an east facing home with lots of great natural light throughout. I really wanted a clean, warm gray and I've tried about every shade but it just doesn't seem to work with the backsplash. In retrospect, I should have chosen a whiter mother of pearl subway tile but too late now...The trim throughout is SW Dover White. Other accent colors are a warm indigo, turquoise, and green. Can anyone please provide some wall paint suggestions or am I destined to keep this Kilim Beige? Thank you!

I see your problem. Every color that I tried that was more of a gray (cooler) looked bad with the tile. I found colors that looked good with the tile by going in the opposite direction--more toward pink/peach undertones--that were less yellow, but I suspect that pinky beiges are not what you are looking for either (they look great with your backsplash, though).

I think your options are to either

1) Live with the Kilim Beige

2) Choose a grayer paint color that doesn't look as good with the backsplash

3) Change the backsplash ($$$!) and get a wall color you like.

Maybe someone else will have some brilliant insight that solves this dilemma.

Do you have an SW fan deck with all of their colors in it? If not, perhaps the SW paint store will let you borrow one. On my monitor, it looks as though a beige tone is better with your tiles, counter and floor, than a gray.

With the fan deck, you can flip through all of the colors that interest you, while holding them next to your counters and back splash in both natural light and with artificial light to see which looks best.

I have both SW and Ben Moore fan decks - sometimes they will GIVE you one, and they help immeasurably.

The moment when you have fixed elements-you're, to some point, restricted. You have backsplash, granite, floor tile..all in brown realm. The grays that might -maybe-work-will never be clean gray..rather some very warm greige..with more beige than gray in it. Taupes might work. Warm whites might work. Every house is unique, in terms of lighting etc..I'd try several samples and look at them during the day, and then in artificial light, to see how they behave..

You can also pick more saturated color (coffee? milk chocolate? in short something yummy)), and see what happens. It won't be the perfect match, but it might be lively background.

Thanks for the comments. Even griege colors don't seem to work with the backsplash and I feel like I've tried them all! I've been contemplating painting the tv wall in Dover white and adding board and batten or some sort of trim work to add interest and to offset all the Kilim beige. I'm sure finally putting up our artwork and family pictures will help too. Was hoping fora paint change but I may just have to learn to live be with it...

Try SW accessible beige. My cabinets, counters and kitchen floors are your color although my backsplash is totally different. Accessible beige goes on light but dries darker. It's not a warm color but feels kind of cold. I'll try to post pics. I think it could work in your space.
