Best finish for old cedar picnic table?

Neighbor wants an old cedar picnic table refinished after I cleaned & power washed it.

She wants a natural finish, Should I go with a semi transparent stain seems like a good method (even though I think all transparents wear much too fast as opposed to solid stains , esp on flat sufaces!)

Or should I stick with a wipe on poly?? I do most of my garden tool handles with this.

I'm sure that some folks here would have some good advise, but I suspect that you thought you were on the Woodworking forum.

1. Show a good Picture of it or similar.
2. Pic should dictate age range, condition and
  quality of material.
3. Has it been in the family for years and built by
  a family member?
4. Is it open to the weather or under a top?
5. Will it get much traffic?
I built 2-3 with solid 2X6 cedar
wood slats on 2x2x1/8” angle iron metal supports in the 70s that I would enjoy
now. All had seats attached or separate. All could take open weather or under
tops. All had poly or tung oil finishes
(customer’s choice). I considered them, “Old
Park Picnics Styles”!

Later I went to purchased folding
legs to travel with ¾” cedar or Etc top to take the weather and a variety of
uses.
