What's wrong with my Queen?

All 9 others in the yard are thriving. I noticed this 2 years ago as a depression/hole in 1 side of the trunk and it has gotten progressively worse. All palms have been in the ground about 8 years. The top of the palm seems healthy. Most importantly is this a goner I should take down and would it be safe to replant a palm in it's place?

Trunk looks like its been badly weed 'whacked' and now is rotting or struggling to deal with the damage done.

That palm will certainly be weaker at that point and Queens are known for the tendency to fall over onto cars and houses (more often than any other palm I know of except for large Caryota palms)

I would have that cut down!..its not going to hold up to many Santa Ana's.
