Your house is traditional. When you replace the sofas, think about a different style, just something so not overstuffed. You could go more transitional in the style if you want AND get an oversized chair for your husband. Also, is you sofa black or dark blue? I wouldn't use a black sofa and possibly something lighter in color might work better. The large rolled arms take us space that could be used for end tables. Above the cabinets, the small items are lost. It is a good place for a gallery, but large pieces. Accessories for this space need to be larger so that they may be seen from a distance. Good luck!

Sofa is dark brown and I was planning on going lighter but definitely NOT white. Thank you so much for the style suggestion! I now have a place to begin :)
