Looks like a Japanese beetle. They are voracious. And there are probably a lot more of them. :/

I'm guessing that it's a Japanese beetle, though its primary identifying features aren't apparent after being sprayed.

They don't suck plant juices, but skeletonize the leaves; you can see it in the early stages in your pictures.

as long as the leaf remains green.. is doing its function of converting sunshine to plant food ...

minor damage on vegetables.. is not a big deal in my world ....

of course.. bug populations peak and ebb over the years ... but on some level.. its not worth the effort to deal with them ... in the sense of looking for perfect plants ... dont worry about a few ....

Do all of us a favor and put you location in your profile. That is absolutely important. Gardening is about observing and adapting year after year. If the pest isn't doing enough damage to harm the harvest, just let it be. Every gardener has to deal with pests every year. If you panic every time to see an insect and spray something, you need to take up golf.
