Call a local garlic growing. Hacienda Shiloh is in Gettysburg...google "garlic growers". Did you dry them on the ground or hung? I buy garlic from a local organic grower and have had the same sort of pest in amongst the gloves. The only time I don't have the pests is when I buy it at the grocery store where they are sprayed with who knows what.

I dug them up and then air dried them. Before this I never had any bugs bugging my garlic.

I also made sure to start buying only organic garlic, as I had noticed a 'moldy' taste in the garlic at the store even though there was no mold on the cloves or even on the wrappers. I heard that the moldy tasting garlic is allegedly from China. The cloves looked perfectly normal, nothing else, but they all tasted moldy! Even after cooking! The organic garlic I buy doesn't have this problem.

Do you practice plant rotation or do you plant them in the same place every year? I hope you find the culprit.

I agree, store bought garlic just doesn't have much taste. But when I'm out of my organic stash I don't have a choice. And for me it's difficult to store even hard necked garlic a year.
