I would spend the rug money on better bedding and lamp.

The lamp should be taller and have a three way switch.

If you need the dust ruffle, do a great one. I can see the frame of the bed and it doesn't meet the floor.

Something like these: choose your own fabric. I would have 3 euro shams made, also. Two up against the headboard and one in the front/middle.

I would do either a traditional look or I would do a geometric, either way pulling from that blue color of the headboard. That headboard is pretty sophisticated and the bedding doesn't match it, so I would upgrade the bedding to something nicer looking and again try to pull some of the blue into some part of the bedding (pillows, etc) so that the color of that headboard makes some sense. And I would get a larger lamp, that one is too small.

I agree to lose that dust ruffle. It's letting the room down. It looks nothing like the tailored look twin bed base in your ideabook. Buy a tailored bed skirt.

Navy blues can be very hard to match to other navies. Go for another color.

I like the color in a bedroom to come from the bedding and then a nice fluffy rug for the feet to hit and not sisal they feel awful on barefeet. The lamp needs to be taller and larger and drapes are always nice in a bedroom. I am not sure the bedsize but if a double or queen you need room to get in and out on both sides so mabe small endtables instead of a dresser
