Native plant sources

I'm planning to stock my garden with natives. I'd like to find some good sources. What I really want is sources that give me options. Not just bloodroot, but a choice between single and double flowered. Not just joe pye weed, but a choice between tall and dwarf.

Any recommendations?

Ps I'm in the Portland area.

Here is a list of native Maine, NH and VT plants.

You could compare the list to the local nursery's websites, like O'Donal's in Gorham and Broadway Gardens in So. Portland. I know O'Donal's has a native plant display, and their staff is well educated on their stock.

If you are up for a road trip, go visit Garden in the Woods/New England Wild Flower Society during the spring. They typically post a list of plants on the web sometime in winter for the following year.

I don't know if the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden sells plants or not, but might be worth checking out.

The linked list of plants above is a start but not a complete listing; just a FYI, not a criticism.
