Smeg 48" range - reviews?

I'm considering the Smeg 48" opera range. I like the modern style and the price is great. Also, it seems to get good online reviews. I know it isn't in the same league as a Wolf or Miele, but for my family's needs, it may be plenty. We aren't gourmet cooks - we have two full time careers and 3 small children. We cook a nicer meal 2 nights a week and cook simple stuff like fajitas, fish and simple pasta dishes on busy weeknights. We are looking for a 48" range because that fits best in our kitchen design and we want something reliable and attractive.

We are also considering a Miele 48" range, Bertazzoni 48" range, or maybe a Lachance or Wolf.. but honestly I wouldn't mind saving $8k+ dollars if I can get a decent quality appliance that is adequate for our needs and will last just as long for less money.

Also, I live in the SF Bay Area in case that makes a difference.

So if you were my client the first thing I would tell you is forget a 48” range they require very special, and very noisy exhaust systems and unless you cook for 10 every meal they are useless waste of space. I have a small catering biz i run from my kitchen and a 36” 6 burner range is more than adequate.

The range is on an exterior wall in the back of the house. Can't it just vent directly to the outside to reduce noise?

The 48" range fits our layout best and provides two ovens instead of just one.

If the kitchen can take it then why not? My daughter just started cooking on one in her new place, just loves it. Special top burners for fast boiling and the second oven has a stone bottom for pizzas and baking.

no, I haven't not purchased a range yet. Our renovation is still a few months away. I'm still considering the smeg though. Wish I could find more reviews too.

Hey— she likes the smeg, thinks it looks nice, she says she absolutely needs to ovens, so so…….???? We’re looking at Bertazonni. Fugar Milan…..and the high speed one viking Wolf —-but would like some input. Did you get it? Happy?
