Does the rod and the grommets need to bet he same metal color?

    The grommets and curtain rod do not need to match. It really is a personal preference, and it is perfectly ok for the rod to be a different color than the grommets.

    Mixed metals/tones in drapery hardware is a fun and whimsy design. If you are a more classic/traditional design lover, I would coordinate the grommets and the hardware.

    Or a dark wood rod and black rings. ( I know these aren't grommets, but it's a great visual tool)
