we are redoing our kitchen and have come across a lighting issue.

we have 2 can lights evenly spaced along a 105 inch run of cabinets. (there is a basement door in the way, so the cabinets aren't able to go the whole length (12ft) of the wall)

we are also putting a flush mount fixture near in the room, which will make it somewhat close to these can lights.

my question is should we center the flush mount fixture with the can lights (even space in between the can lights), or should we center the fixture with the entire room. ( which is 12ft wide), which may make the can lights look "off"?
