Do you mean with zero die back or crown hardy, for me Roseraie De L'Hay, Pavement Series of roses both are Rugosa types, Scotch roses have very little die back. Most Explorer and Parkland roses die back but regrow well in Spring.

I second wayne, my rugosas have almost no die back, and most of the ones from the explorer, parkland and canadian artist series will dies back but grow back vigorously.

I did not protect any of my roses last year, but it was an unusually mild year, I had almost no die back on all my roses except for Turbo and Rugelda.

I second connie, Winnipeg Parks is wonderful. I have been extremely lucky with Winnipeg Parks. The blooms are huge and tea-like, the growth is vigorous, she is one of the first to bloom at the beginning of the season, as well as the last, I get at least three flushes a year.

Also, Hope for Humanity and Alexander McKenzie have done well for me without winter protection too.

JP Connell grows for me in zone 2 with only occasional dieback. This is one tall rose, this year it is close to 4 feet high. I love this rose, it is a beautiful soft yellow, and the buds are wonderful.

mine has been in for at least 8 years, so yes it is hardy here. That said, we do not get early spring growth or warm weather in winter that makes it break dormancy to early. So, as with some fruit, roses can surprisingly live here very well. I have one David Austin, the name got lost in the shuffle, that is a lovely creamy soft beige, it has been living and blooming for 5 years. Granted it is not as vigorous as the others, but still it gets about two feet high and blooms every year.

Ubro, could your Austin rose be the variety 'Crocus' or 'St. Cecilia'? I have read good things about them in colder zones.

It very well could be crocus. I bought a few and have 3 left, Queen of Sweden, Judy the Obscure and this one without a tag. I did buy a Crocus but not St. Cecilia so I assume that is what this is. The other two did not bloom this year but they are still growing. I

Hansa has been about the hardiest for me over the years. Blanc Double de Coubert has also been very hardy and so has Marie Bugnet. I moved her this spring and she actually bloomed a month or so later!
