Rain, Rain, Come Our Way

Hi everyone,

This summer has been brutal! We haven't had any major rainfall in over a month (approx.) and the heat and humidity keep on coming. Today's newspaper predicts an equally warm and dry fall. Our water pressure here in the trailer court is wonky, and we are under a drought watch. However, my Hoyas and other house plants are doing great. LOTS of new growth and my lacunosa var. pallidiflora is producing another set of buds :). Any upcoming trades I may do (getting the plant itch again lol), there is perfect weather ahead for doing so :).

We did get some nice rain the other week, but we need some major rainfall to make any difference. Looks like I'll have to do more rain spells.

Hi Brad, happy to hear you've gotten rain. SC is hot but getting occasional rain lately. Like you I've seen amazing growth, the most growth in one season since I began growing hoyas. Noelle is budding up for the third time, and my mature Arnottiana bloomed for the first time in years! I believe it's because I started collecting rain water for them and, added new soil on top after reading the suggestion in another thread. Enjoy the thunderstorms.

Hi Liberated, congrats on all of the blooms! :). Mostly the southern part of the county I am in is under a flash flood warning, as it has poured off and on all afternoon and evening. We're getting a lot of thunder and lightning as well. My Hoyas are undercover, thankfully, but some do get rained on. This'll be nice for their leaves, too.
