Hi, everyone. I'm about a year into landscaping my new house and I'm starting to plan for next Spring. As you can see from the photos, I have a long way to go still. User Yaardvark helped steer me in the right direction, several months ago but I need some elaboration here.

I have plans to put in some shrubs on the front left corner to help out with the sloping, but I'm asking today about the front RIGHT corner. Specifically, tree selection and placement.

This area has a bed extending about 6 feet out in the front of the home and 7 feet out on on the side of the home. There is currently a small evergreen here that came with the house when I purchased it (clearly seen in the bottom photo).

I'm really wanting a Crepe Myrtle, but I realize this may be too close to the home for that. So I thought maybe a tree could go in the yard in front of the bed to soften that corner? An Acoma Crepe Myrtle might do well there.

Anyway, I would love to hear your opinions and would be very grateful for any comments. Thank you!
