These heavy cotton bright and cheerful pillows have a turquoise mini ball fringe and are filled with soft poly fiber filling. The back side is made of a brown faux leather. They come in 3 sizes.

Lighter coffee table, side table, and curtains
Throw in some color w your mantel art, decorative pillows, rug (which I couldn't put in) and lamps
  • 9 years ago
thank you everyone, I'm still in dilemma, looks like I don't get it so easily,
now I see green, blue, mustard/gold , only thing I get is I have to bring color with table lamps, rug, throws, pillows
so what about the drapes, does that mean you want me to take off both LR and Kitchen and replace with neutrals? do you think mustard yellow go well, if so I'm ready to replace everything with yellows/gold as it might go well with browns.

Everyone has an opinion and if you do not stick with one of the opinions that you really feel defines what you want to do, you won't be able to make a decision.

Yellows and gold go well with brown and the grey that is in your space.

I have a slight discomfort with pushing something, when not sure if you absolutely love -- curtains say? Maybe a rug like this which seems fine for LR would do it -- your current curtains would be your art!??

I'll copy/paste from your earlier post:

"my only concern is I want to add color to my home, right now I have everything sofa, cabinets, floor, furniture in brown so instead of adding neutrals I want to induce that fresh feel, so I'm trying to add cool colors...."

that's one reason I thought you might want to leave your "art curtains" there and add, yes, another brown, but cow has pattern.

So far I don't like idea of green area rug probably not even blue -- rug should look great with huge fp and sofa.

    Saanviz, this copy/ paste ---

"I also wanted to add [art], drapes in beige and counterstools in the same color."

You need what makes you happy - if art, then make that a starting point.

out of the colors you currently have..what color do you like best? turquoise, teal or green? that might help us help you more.
basically the color needs to move around the room, not just be on the windows. that is why we keep saying rugs, throw pillows, art, decorative items. the color needs to be used a minimum of three times in a room. right now the color is high on wall and a tiny touch on fireplace. move the turquoise vase to the left side of fireplace get some pillows and a throw blanket for sofa. That's a minimum of what's needed. a rug would help pull everything together.

If you would please take a photo standing in 'curtain corner' including tv in relation to first floor. Then again pointing up so we can see staircase, etc....

Green fabric - I was hoping you'd consider re-using each panel / stapled over canvas-wood frame and show them in {?} second story hall. They don't look at all luxurious as they are, sorry. The green would look so nice in a white kitchen.

My comments earlier days were because of your fp's metal circle - are you keeping that?

    last modified: 9 years ago

I like that - but back to whether you'll have fp art next to patterned curtains. I wouldn't. Your art [august 8] looked like havingfun's rug..... tell us! :)

That's a nice looking combination. If you want to get some fabric from your father for pillows, get stripes and solids in your aqua, teal, green colors.

here are the pics of fp and staircase
everz even i feel the same now, I don't think either blue or green is gonna get that satisfied look, I feel it's a compromise, so I'm thinking of bring in either beige or yellow as most of you suggested. I hope it goes well with browns.
I will move these blue drapes to game room and green shades to a bedroom.
I will buy the blue rug which havingfun sent and use them along with blue drapes in gamearea.

Yes bring in yellow. It looks & works well with blue & green.

Feathers inside for $38 / several color options in paisley. You know that any bright pillow will have more contrast than the linen background you have posted. The couch is dark.

I have chosen yellow, orange/peech and turquoise colors for my home, do you think any of these fabric looks good for the drapes?
    and these

So, how do you plan on using yellow, orange, peach and turquoise in your home. Sorry, but I am not liking any of those fabrics.

My concern is that your sectional isn't delicate like flowers.... it's dark and leather [is it?]. This photo also has stone fireplace and patterned curtains. But the furniture is a blend.

In other words, I think a solid. Maybe that 'bright gold' one that's less mustard-yellow? another photo? what fabric is it?

Idea for rug that has a very enlarged pattern in it - as different look than wood there, than individual stones on fp...... modernized.... but still with patterned pillows and art.

everz, I liked the curtains in the pic you sent me, probably I will go with them, does the fabric in the image looks the same

ok saan, I tried to remove what i could. is this rug you spoke of?

remember this is primarily a blue - not a color you just mentioned, tan- more like burnt orange, and lime green - also not in list. I think it is a lovely rug and will go well with the drk brown couches, but we need to alter the color scheme for that room and the kitchen.

everz, i tried looking, i cannot see the drapes saan spoke of, can you put them back up? thanks.

Wow is everyone as confused as I am reading this post?
I'm talking abt these drapes havingfun

Comparing your inspiration board and amber-tan paint - that fabric looks too 'hot' mustard. I think it would fight with the mass of stone. A similar organic- look fabric heathered with bit of grey maybe.

Ovchinnikov -- when OP asks about a specific fabric [over computer merely] why not give an opinion?

OMG! When I started reading Ovchinnikov's first line, I thought that I was reading my stuff. He has copied my comment from last week(first line only -last Thursday at 6:11a.m.), word for word....Seriously Eugene!

how to be snarky with no work output! lol

Saan you are saying you want to do the 3 tone drapes with that gold. as the bottom color. that sounds good. before you decide two other colors, would this be of help? it would allow sun to come in without anydirect view from outside.

the huge sectional is the death of the room, no matter what other choices you make. I suggest you invest in a real design pro and learn from them.

which window treatments looks better ?

ok, your curtains do not seem to tie into the other things in the room. i also can not see what they look like much. based on all this, i vote for the plain indistinct ones - #3. but even them i don't see them welll.

I see that you are putting pillows on the sectional that match the curtains....good idea. Since you like color - I'd go with the first picture - the yellow and gray curtains.

This looks AMAZING. Just make sure rug is big enough, curtains are hung high and wide and hit the floor, and it's gonna be perfect:) good job. We have very similar tastes (bold colors lol).
Hi, if doable do Roman shades in both kitchen and living room. Earth tones will tie everything together. The living room would look even better with 1 curtain panel on each side of the window. Since you like green, you can pick a curtain panel with some green design and a rug to match. Should we discuss wall art?
Just noticed the dining table. If you are looking to change the light fixture, go with a bigger chandelier.....6 to 8 lights
  • 9 years ago

Glanced at Jordan's hot yellow, almost mustard curtains, and liked them// livened up brown sofa and didn't detract from fp...

    how is it going? :)

lol did not put that together...op put together a few things and that was my fave:)

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned (did not read all replies) but I would get rid of the blue curtain and replace with one in the same fabric as the green. Cover the 2 fabric throw pillows in solid fabric, one the same shade as the dark green, the other the light green. I think that would all tie together well.

I changed the blue drapes to green
