The answer would depend on where the stone is going in your house, your lifestyle, and your budget.

Depends. are you planning to stay in your home long term? If so then pick something you love and want. Don't go with what other people think is better. If you only have a short term plan I'd look at comps in your neighborhood. Is marble standard? If you live in an area where laminate countertops is common, then Quartz would be an upgrade and added value so no need to splurge on the marble.

Do do you plan on putting this in a kitchen or bathroom? I have been told by family to avoid marble in a bathroom as it stains easily and when you're dripping wet out of a shower (or kids splashing in a bath) this can be disastrous. In a kitchen I think if you were cautious (use coasters, have a towel nearby to immediately clean up splashes from sink) then it'd be fine.

If its on a low traffic area then putting on floors wouldn't be a bad idea IMO. Marble flooring is gorgeous!! However if you live somewhere it snows or rains a lot I'd be hesitant to have marble flooring

Quartz is used on Kitchen counters much more often than marble. Marble is softer, stains more and is higher maintenance. However, bakers love it because it makes a great surface for rolling out dough etc. Quartz is a man made slab but still a stone that is fully sealed and is virtually maintenance free. So go by your lifestyle and chose a color you like. Quartz are now coming in a lot of the same kind of marble colors too.

Quartz is a harder material than marble. Which is better? Personal preference.
