I like the second one best if the scale works.

I like cement top table. It has shape consistent with island and material works with other surfaces. Nice kitchen!

Both tables are great but neither will "soften" the room as you want. Something with rounded edges would do that better

Thinking out loud: white, tan/beige, espresso cabinets.... handles echo pendants.... soften, how? I wish a table had a modern design within the tabletop.....

The table with the metal legs is more limiting with seating. Notice the showroom picture has 3 chairs crammed in on the far side. The leg detail as it angles in will cause people to knock their knees and not be able to pull their chair in (so 2 on the long side is more realistic). Also, select your chairs at the same time and if you already own chairs please post a photo so we can better advise you.

Ps I love the C&B table and own the exact same concrete top version but w the black legs. We love it. Notice the thickness of the wood on the version you are considering. You will have to be careful about selecting a chair w arms with the wood frame as it adds thickness. I know you said no more black and white but I have to say the C&B version with the black leg and marble top would look killer in your space. Good luck!

Neither goes with your kitchen. A darker reclaimed wood with heavier metal legs would be better.

To get specific - your wish list:

soften / slightly modern rustic / not too cold

... though the legs have 'shape' you probably could do better

... the concrete top is a lighter neutral so that's softer ...

Maybe soften it up was the wrong word. I wanted to add a rustic element to make it a bit more casual, for some reason that lighter wood?!? I don't want dark espresso or glass and need to be a clean even surface for kids to do home work, not too high maintenance (again kids.) Here's the light fx. i have to stay within 60" L and no more than $1,200. That's been a struggle :/ if you have a table in mind I'd LOVE to see a picture :)

I have hunted around, and I think I still like the cement top one you originally posted the best. Found one other oval with white pedestal base but with kids that base will take a beating I am afraid. I would go with that one.

Use accessories to get any softening you want. I think the space is gorgeous and well done. Enjoy!

I think the problem is these choices are too long. She has a limit of 60" long. I like those chairs though. The work with the bar chairs you suggested earlier.

A 60" rectangular table can only seat 4 comfortably. If you need a table for more than four, a 60" round will provide room for 6. CheerS! Thanks Ev. :))

Natalie, I absolutely love those! Little nervous about the shiny chrome w the dog hair (my barstools have a chrome base and it is like a magnet) but I might be able to make it work you might not see it as much with chairs. Where did you find those two tables? I just need to get them the right size and price now

Hi! Oh, I agree, Woodland Creek's table is Stunning, but pricy. The Etsy seller does accept custom orders---perhaps you could send the seller a photo of the WC table and ask if they can do something comparable. You never know. :))

All 3 of those tables are beautiful, though I favor the second and third for your kitchen.

You could definitely go a step further toward organic and what better way than implementing a live edge table? Perfect. Toss in a pair of chrome legs and you have a masterpiece. :))

Waterfall modern, with night lighting more so.... so I like not barn wood look [did #1 table have?] but actually the natural/ outdoor live edge brought inside, like a tree from the forester! If you like opposites, do a total opposite ... waterfall-straight and live-edge natural..... yes.

Found an amazing woodmaker on Etsy! So far, super responsive, great customer service and he lives 45 min from me so I was able to go to his shop today. We've settled for walnut wood but not to do live edge (too much $2000). Just a square edge with chrome legs. SO...next dilemma, water base top coat for a lighter finish or darker oil finish. Thoughts? Remember my kitchen is espresso and I wanted to mix it up.

top is water base below is oil base (table will have chrome legs.)
