A Few August Blooms

A few from this morning...

Roberto Capucci... I think the heat has produced a few less petals, but still a stunner.

The Impressionist... so lovely and has doubled in size since receiving the gallon size from Heirloom Roses. So cheery!

Pink Peace... I'm in love with the fragrance. The leaves got a bit fried.

Candice from Ludwig's is doing very well. Sorry the photo is over exposed.

And, my new little toad buddy... I just love him. He comes out every morning for snacks and then hides under a pot during the day.

Many more buds/blooms to come... even after the hail today.

Beautiful blooms! I love Robert Capucci and The Impressionist. I just ordered Candice from Ludwig's too. I hope it lives up to the photos I've seen. I think it's really sweet that you have a toad buddy. I have two scrub jays that are my garden buddies.

Yes, I love Pink Peace's fragrance too - smells like Fruit Loops!! You really captured the color well!!!

I've never seen a toad in my garden. Maybe they don't live in our area??? I have no idea. I would love to have a toad! Lucky you!!

I love the color of The Impressionist!! So happy looking!

Carol, that's funny. Maybe that's why I like PP's fragrance so much.

You probably do have toads. You just need water to attract them. I made a little in-ground water feature in my garden/nursery just for fun which I think it's attracted to because of all the tasty snacks that are there for him/her. Do you have any kind of pond or ground-level water in your garden? I dug a trench and took some pond liner and put a layer of grey river rock that you see in the toad photo. There's a sprayer there to fill it with water each day and I wash it out every few days to get rid of mosquito larvae. I think the little guy's pretty happy. :-)

Oh, I see. No, we don't have any water features in the yard. And I don't want to add any since I have 3 standard poodles. Poodles are a water breed, and my house would be constantly wet. LOL

It feels good to make environments for critters. I like doing that for the bees in the yard. I do have water out for them. :)

Lots of lovlies. I love Pink Peace too. I hard pruned mine a couple years ago and it pouted big time. It's finally back to its beautiful self this year. I love all your roses. They all look beautiful!!! Judy
