Love that cat!

I love the clock, however I think it's too big for the fireplace. If you love the clock there, you could balance it out by putting big tall decor items on the floor on either side of the fireplace to make the overall fireplace design look bigger.

Also the 3 smallest items on the mantle seem too small for the clock. They may be OK if you add another medium sized item to the display.

For me, it helps to think of the design rule of thirds or fibonacci proportions - 2:3, 3:5, 5:8, 8:13, etc.

Good idea! The tiny white thing on the left is for the thermostat so that doesn't count

I really like the mantle. The clock might be a tad big, but it's quirky!

I think you have a nice comfortable home. For the mantle, that clock is too large - if you find something of similar shape, but smaller, that would do nicely.

I really like the last photo - the plant on the log cross sections.

Whoops, I thought the brown niche was part of the clock. I take back my "clock is too big" comment.

Now I think you just minimize or remove what you put outside of the niche.

LOL. Thanks, Jane. I didn't realize it was a niche either. Thought it was a very large clock. I'd feature the clock in the niche and maybe just have 2 pretty slim candlesticks on the mantel with the clock.

I love the clock in the niche. It's unique and interesting.

The vase and the picture on the left are nice.

Along with the plant I would remove the glass vase with the pine cones and look around the house for something else to put there.

Then post more pics of the mantle.

Ok so a few new pics. Let me know what you think! As of right now I can't really think of anything to replace the pine cones. Should I just replace the pine cones with something else?
