Can I ask why so many questions about, the fixation on, weird crossings?

I assume you know that it is more complex than just knocking the blooms from 2 different plants together? It doesn't happen over night, can often take years before anything is visible to the eye, that most of the time any change is not visible to the naked eye? That it can often involve multiple varieties to achieve any documented change in even one of them? That it is not something that most tomato growers intentionally do or are interested in. Most are interested in growing quality tomatoes to eat, not in weird crosses, much less making intentional crosses.

Then the Hybridizing forum I linked above is where you'll find others with that shared interest. For most growers preventing cross-pollination is of greater interest. ;-)

Accidental crossing is not that common with tomatoes unless you have big population of bees. Most varieties get self pollinated even before the flowers fully open. And by probability it is more likely a flower get pollinated by its own pollen than from another plant But if you want to do it by design, it takes some planning , work and exercise. I did a few times but it did not take.

By crossing a cherry with a big tomato you get something a bit bigger only than the cherry (like a cocktail tomato) in first generation. Usually the first generation of most crosses are very boring, red tomatoes because those boring genes are the ones that are dominant. Starting with F2 only things get interesting, but most gardeners getting an accidental cross, usually don't continue it past F1.

You might look into some books on crossing plants/vegetables if you're really interested in it (genetics tickle my fancy a bit too). One really good one is Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties, although it doesn't focus completely on tomatoes, there is some good information on them. I'm sure there are others if you dig around.
