I live in phoenix and have a fence facing west. I was advised that Lady Bank would grow very well there. I planted 5 of them 5 months ago (in April) - they have slowly declined and are now just sticks. (brown sticks, but the inside is still light colored so they are alive). I have shaded, watered daily, then not daily, fed with plant food, deepened the watering wells, placed mulch in wells - they still continue to decline. Our soil is very poor, clay-like. Any suggestions? I hate to get rid of them, but I just don't know what else to try. THX
