Awesome finds, NextO! I'm dying to know what the orange based leaves are. Looks spoon-ish, maybe? I thought your variegate was masoniana. My fasciata does not have thick leaves like that. Beautiful though! The hallii does look blue, but I always thought blue was so thick. You have really found some great specimens, Mary! I'm so absorbed with the sans, I forgot to mention that plumeria is spectacular as well!

I just checked Brookside Nursery and their description of Lake Sibaya is orange petioles and paler green leaves (than concinna).

Hmmmm... My Lake Sibaya doesn't have orange petioles. Now I have to question whether I even have that species. Oh dear.

Hi Vitorama! I THOUGHT I had a blue bat from the color & type of leaf shape but they said they picked it up on their trip to Tanzania, the locals call it "Elephant something" (I've already forgotten, it's over 100 deg. today) but they did not know the correct botanical name/ID and did not speculate hallii. I got the last one they had! They have a new shipment of francisii and the fasciata marginated, I got a small one but nice shape - it will grow. I love the red edges against the ivory margins.

As for the Plumeria, it's only one gallon (no blooms on it yet) but I will grow it up. Complete surprise he gifted me with it. I used to have many, I sold most of my collection to him and that's how we became friends.

The orangey spoon looks to be a good grower - it had an excellent root ball throwing rhizomes in every direction, I expect I'll have to repot it again in a few weeks. This nursery does not culture the Sans for growth - the Bhitalis and Horwoods look about the same as when I bought mine which have 3 pups/6 new leaves between them (fertilizer, heat & water).

Maybe the petioles fade with age? This plant I bought does not have the banding. It's alot like subspicata yet different. The nursery owners said they don't know what it is. They would know it's subspicata because they have at least a dozen there. I have one too.

Loving that Fasciata Marginated! Sooo jealous, haha!

Ohhh good stuff! I need to really look at my latest Sans. It seems the color of the petioles changed. I love that Lake Sibaya.
