Sorry, no idea. I am a continent away (in NJ), had a beautiful Sage plant, it flowered splendidly, then dried out/rotted from the center out, all in an environment of Mediterranean aridity (not humid/wet). Have since heard they can be temperamental. I did start others (in different situations). So, curious as to what is suggested to you.

I read somewhere (???) that sage has about a 5 year lifespan as a desirable edible plant. I also had one that got to be about 5-6 years old and became very woody, less flavorful, and had more yellowing and spotted leaves. It was in a pot and I sent it off to a friend's garden for "retirement" and started some new little plants. Has made me wonder about the lifespan of landscaping salvia plants in my front yard but I haven't researched that.
