Far too many people never recognize what you did for yourself, and I congratulate you for it. Stress, even from doing something you like can still kill you. I know what you're going through as I went through it myself when I was in my mid 40s and decided to walk away from a good corporate position.

Relax. Decompress. Simplify your life. Enjoy the flowers and the coming autumn's colors!

@azmom - We ended up selling our lot. We were frustrated with the design process at about the same time that an offer came in and we accepted it. It actually worked out well as I ended up changing jobs from a university to a small college and was able to make the move.

@nancy - It started as a book about teaching accounting to students who are not interested in accounting type fields. But it looks like it may morph into a book about taking a lateral approach to teaching certain linear subjects. In short, I doubt the movie rights are going to make me big bucks, but if anyone is interested I can tell you where to send the check!

If I am ever wrong, I'm going to delete my account and go on a sabbatical to the Tetons.

I've been on GW for a good 10 years and you don't need an approval from anyone to provide your feedback or ideas. As someone mentioned, just own it and be upfront.

I wasn't here for the arguments you mention, but I see nothing unfair about changing your username on an internet forum. I've done that (elsewhere) a couple times for privacy or simply because I thought of a name I liked better. Also, when Houzz bought Gardenweb, tons of people ended up with new names.

It'd be fine for all those reason, but a new name seems especially fitting for you in this case, given the fresh start you're having on a lot of levels.

Nonetheless, I am a little disappointed. With your accounting and legal background, I was hoping to see a house with design and details reflecting analytical decision making and rational considerations.

I say give it a try. I've generally found your advice to be good. I do remember you getting a bit in my face on one topic, but I probably don't have a perfect conduct record myself. There are a few folks I've observed over my years here that have disappeared and I haven't missed them, but you're not in that group, and we would benefit from your expertise if you stayed on.
