Those look a lot more interesting potted. :-)

Will you have to cover or protect the newly exposed root from excess sunlight or are you covering shading them from the sun.

Where they are is in a semi shaded area so they should be right. And we are at the end of winter here so the sun hasn't been as harsh. And the fact that it's overcast for the next few days will help too.

They do look better potted Marica, I am yet to decide if I like the long look or not. I bought them as root stock originally to graft on and sell. Will see how they settle before I decide on keeping any.

Are they all different or of one stock ? What I mean to ask is, would they have different colored flowers, as and when they flower?.Did the seller provide you any info on that?

In any case even of they are all the same you now have so many to try some grafting on some.

Love that ballerina too! They look so different when potted up as Marica has also noticed. I honestly thought no, I really didn't like those when they were lying their bare rooted. However, that's an amazing transformation now they're in their pots, there's some lovely shapes. Please do show us the rest when you've finished potting them. Nice finds.

I was the same Gill. I nearly didn't buy any as they were so weird looking but she offered them to me for $1 each so I thought why not. I have thrown 3 in the bin so far as they had more rot damage than I first thought and had to cut back too far and didnt like the look after cutting back. I have another 9 or so drying out from more minor damage so will post more photos when I repot them.

How interesting! These are definitely different Christine. I do like the look of the ballerina. Keep us posted on their progress.

Potted a few more today, still think some of them are weird looking.

Crikey, there's some strange things going on with those caudexes....in the penultimate pic, either side of the 10.60$ pot, what's the one in the tall red pot all about!?!? Then there's a very shapely lady one at the very front in the brown pot, she's very curvy! Lol. They made me smile :-))

I would prune them for more branching. Sell what you don't want for more then you paid for. I just sold a tree I got back in April for 3x the money on Ebay. Then get tree's or seeds you want.

People like odd shapes. They just may not be to your liking or they will grow on you.

Haha Gill. Yes that tall one in the red pot wasn't supposed to look like that. I was meant to wrap the thin root around the caudex but forgot to do it when I potted it. Now it looks like a well endowed fellow. I will be fixing that up in the next few days.

Marica, I am letting them settle and then I will be using them for root stock to graft on.

Nooooooo, don't cut it off! It will make a nice companion for that lady plant!

Update on my plants. I have repotted my Mr and Mrs together, as they truly are soul mates haha. I think they make the perfect couple. I have filled half the pot with styrofoam so hopefully that should help with drainage as I don't like using such deep pots.

Haha, I'm glad everyone is enjoying them as much as I am. I giggle everytime I look at them but they are such a cute couple. I have finally decided what flower I'm going to graft on them when they settle a bit. Black for the Mr and red for the Mrs....

Pagan, every time I look at "Mr" I can't decide if he is peeing or very well endowed. Will be interesting to see in the coming months if that part will thicken up..........oh I have to stop, this is getting worse.
