I think you need to replace black with black but with a more elegant outline (yet comfortable and textural). I think this might be a Pottery barn shape - but in a black microfibre (or deep grey) would maintain your colour scheme and space requirements. Could a sectional fit?

Thank you for giving me some counsel on this room. The room is not very wide and a section would block access to the diner stools for the kids. Adults would walk around but kids would crawl over so my preference will be the elusive chair. I have a iron/wood table coming soon and maybe that will help further define the tv area. Thanks again for your suggestion. I will look at pottery barn. This is our basement family area. My kids love to do crafts at the metal table, layout toys by the couch and watch family movies at night. Hopefully this helps to express how the room is used and by who .
