pouring cement pad for shed

Hi all,

I'm going to be getting a 7x7 shed next month. (The shed is resin, weighs 385 lbs., and has a floor.) Both the manufacturer and the reviewers (Amazon) emphasize a perfectly level surface to ensure the shed goes up square. A neighbor and his teenage daughter are going to assemble the shed. I want a cement pad for it. I would like a professional to do the pad.

A. One Amazon reviewer recommends the pad be 8x8. Do you agree?

B. How thick should the pad be? I'm not worried about flooding here.

C. Based on your answers to A and B, what do you think would be the estimated cost? Closer to $200, $500, etc.?

D. Who is the appropriate professional for me to contact for this job?

This is a huge ball park - $800 - $1200 for the pad. The pad needs to be 4" thick. They will have to excavate (and remove) the sod and soil, add a base of crushed stone, then you need forms. How close can the cement mixer come to the pad location? May have to wheelbarrow the cement - lot's of variables.

I don't know if this would work - but it is great for hot tubs. I think you should contact EZ-Pad and see if it's suitable for your shed:

Thank you so much for your reply, and especially for the information on the EZPad! That will indeed work for me! Garden sheds are one of the things specially listed on their site as something you can set up on an EZPad. At a total price of $438 for the 8x8 pad, you just saved me somewhere between $400-$1,000!! I'm not a wealthy woman by any definition, and that is a HUGE amount of money for me. Plus, I don't know if you were counting this in your estimate, but since the EZPad is portable, I don't have to get it permitted. That also saves time and hassle. The only thing I need to do is clear it (the whole shed project) with the powers that be to be sure I'm not putting it on top of the septic tank or electrical wires, etc.
