These posts are in every room in our beach house. I would like them to be the color of driftwood. The previous owner faux painted them this green color. If I want them to be the color of driftwood, can I stain them with a semi-transparent driftwood stain without sanding them?

You might have better luck with general finishes grey gel stain. No sanding is needed and it works so easily!
