Does anyone use Osmocote Plus on their palms? If so, what is the application rate for containerized palms? The directions on the bottle are horrible and confusing? From what I read, it let me to believe that I could not do much harm by sprinkling some of the beads on the surface and working them into the mix, so I know I will not be over fertilizing but it would be nice to use some kind of rule of thumb. A local nursery showed me another fertilizer formulated specifically for palms but it was a tub large enough for a grove of palms! I like the Osmocote because of the specific formulation (15-9-12) and the inclusion on micronutrients (thus the 'PLUS'). Is this a good all purpose fertilizer for palms?

P.S., In the past, I have used MG for acid-loving plants, but I kinda am the opinion that you need to mix things up occasionally over the years.
