What is the parentage? One never knows, with a cross, how things will pan out.

George, no idea what the parentage is, the seed I was given came from Russ Crow and I believe he got it from Will Bonsall, the seed was quite old.

I managed to get them to germinate but most of the plants were quite weak. This seed produced a few bush types, a couple of twining bush and two pole types, one being the vine in question. All plants other than this one pooped out after producing only one or two pods. I planted a seed or two that I got from these in pots, late, but hopefully I can move them to the greenhouse, to finish off, so far these plants are good and healthy.

The vine in question is still growing gangbusters, throwing clusters of tiny pods and these clusters are still producing more flowers as the pods in the clusters are drying down, Every dry pod I've opened so far has been empty, no seed. I tried eating a pod or two when young, very fibrous not fit to use as a snap bean and expect if any of the pods do manage to produce a seed or two they'd be the size of a rice bean. If nothing else, it's a curiosity, I wouldn't mind growing this one again just to see if it does the same thing but I'd need at least one seed to do this :).

Wow! Sounds like it might be a sterile hybrid. Will Bonsall has a TON of seeds!

Update, lots of pods still drying down and so far not a single seed from 150 give or take a few dried pods. This vine is still growing, still producing a few flowers, the pods are a little wider and longer now but from the feel of them no seeds are developing. I counted 50 or more pods still on the vine in various stages of growth and drying down. It really cooling down here so I expect frost is not far behind. I've never grown a bean that has not produce a single seed before. It's a new one on me.

Sounds like trying to save seeds from seedless watermelon. ;-)
