Seeking polished nickel, inset 3/8" hinges...anywhere?

We are remodeling our kitchen in a 1980s house. However, we have kept the original cabinets and painted them. We always prefer polished nickel hardware because of it's clean, warm, and classic look. While we have easily found several polished nickel pulls that we love, we are having a hard time finding the hinges in the same finish. Our original hinges are face mounted, inset hinges, which means that the hinges are exposed. We don't want to change the style because it means more work patching existing holes.

Our exhaustive online search has turned up no results, and at this point we are frustrated. We know that it's possible to make them, as other hinges exist (finial style, butt hinge, etc.). Can anyone point us to a company that manufactures polished nickel inset hinges? We can find satin nickel, but we are concerned that they will clash with the pulls, as satin nickel tends to have a greyish tinge.

However, what we have found is that the only finishes available are Satin Nickel and Sterling Nickel, neither of which go with polished nickel. We have found one place in Illinois that sells them, but they are $33 a pair. And we have 37 cabinets to hinge, so we are hoping to find something a little less expensive, although, I'm coming to the conclusion that we may have to pay the price or go with an alternative like polished chrome (which nowhere near matches either). We looked into having them dipped, but it's $35 a pair. We have been told that we might be able to have the satin ones polished, but I'm not convinced that there is enough nickel to do that.

Also, if polished nickel hinges are non-existent in the 3/8" inset, face mount style, what would you suggest that wouldn't clash or "just miss it" with the look of polished nickel?

Type this into your google search and it should yield you some results- "classic brass 2541PN". We got ours at decorglamour.com

Cliffside Industies also makes them but they are a bit more expensive than the Classic Brass brand. (Although they are nicer.)

Oh, I see. That is exactly what we had in chrome before we switched the hardware out for polished nickel. It really wasn't that hard to switch hinges. My husband used golf tees to fill in the old screw holes. A little bit of wood putty. Wait a day for it to dry. Sand and paint. We much prefer the look without the hinge plate- but that's just a personal choice. Here's what the finished product looks like in case you consider it.

Do you have any metal electro-platers near you? If your old hinges are in good condition they probably could be nickel plated. Look for companies that cater to motorcycle restorers/customizers. Nickel is done under chrome, so any plater that advertises chrome finishes also does nickel.
