The above is Dwarf Blazing Beauty. One of two of my potato leaves, both the last to set fruit, last to ripen, least prolific. The other, Dwarf BrandFred, has just set a few fruit. Could have been becuase it was REALLY hot, like 104, for about a week when they started flowering. Beautiful color and leaves. I'm no good at judging flavor.

Just picked these two that I think are New Big Dwarf. Started late, set late, but nice to look at while the others might have stopped setting fruit.

My striped blacks; Chocolate Lightning, Adelaide Festival, Fred Tie Die. Beautiful fruit, fairly prolific, but deeply cracked.

Dwarf Purple Heart on two plates in the front. Beautiful, stout plant, early and prolific fruit with few seeds and beautiful color. I planted a second one sort of late, and it is coming on strong. The yellow in the middle are Dwarf Golden Heart. Pretty but small tomatoes, prolific, and still churning fruit. My sister described them as very "fruity".

Here is one today. Not particularly heart shaped.

That might be Boronia at 2 o'clock in the picture with the plates. Boronia and Chocolate Lightning are at least 7 feet tall, and still growing. Pictured below.

Today I tasted one Ananas Noire. It was a small one and the birds had pecked on it. I picked it on blush few days ago and let it set on the counter.

It tasted incredible. no doubt. The same old juicy tomato with marbled colored flesh ( red, orange, green, few seeds ). My only complaint is that it is not very productive. Right now it has about 5 BIG ones . They are still solid green and growing bigger. But considering the taste and texture, I can live with low production.

What happened ? we did not finish our reviews.

I, myself, moved and left my garden behind in the middle of September. So did not have a real chance to really dig into it. Overall all my dark varieties out performed other colors. In the red category I had BIG BEEF, BETTER BOY, and BIG BOY but did not see a real winner.But I liked BETTER BOY fruits better.

I had few ZAPs : Old German, Daniel Burson, Green Copia, Costoluto, Boxcar Willie andd few others . I blame the season for the most part and the climate. June turned out to be as cold as April. July did not warm up much either. Despite of all that my dark varieties ( BFT, IS, SB-LA, CP ) did real well. and BFT shined.

The frost finished off my tomato plants yesterday. I was fairly happy with every tomato variety I grew this year except for one. I grew 18-19 varieties, half of them I have grown before. Kentucky Beefsteak sticks out in my mind right now as one that I was impressed with. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics of that variety. It is a huge orange tomato, nice balanced flavor. The one variety that I did not like was Yellow pygmy. It was a very dry tomato and didn't have much sweetness to balance the acidic.

Here are some of the pictures I did take:

In the basket is Striped Roman, Northern Lights, and either Sun Sugar or Sun Gold (can't remember which one I grew this year). Striped Roman was super productive.

A delicious BLT- I miss them already-This one was made out of a tomato that came from mislabeled seed.

The cherry toms are Tommy Toe tomatoes-one of my favorite cherry types. They are productive, balanced flavor, and have a lot of juice/gel. The black tomatoes are Cherokee Purple.

Here is a picture of the Yellow Pygmy tomato plant. It was beautiful and bushy with lovely rugose type leaves. Due to the flavor of the tomato, I won't be growing it again.

Azoycha looks beautiful. I am looking for a true yellow tomato to grow so maybe that one can be an option for me. Has anybody grown Pork Chop? If so let me know what you think. I also grew Big Beef. It was productive, the tomato itself was okay. What I enjoyed most about BB was the shelf life. They lasted on the counter for a while before they would turn to mush as compared to my other tomatoes (mostly heirlooms).

Dwarf Brandy Fred has been amazing this year.
