I am remodeling a house with a big brick "wall" with a fireplace on one side (the fireplace opens to the den, the back is in the kitchen). I would like to open the back of the existing fireplace so it is a two sided, wood burning fireplace. Has anyone had experience with something like this? I am worried the fire won't draw well and I won't be able to use the fireplace at all.
