36" Range + Double oven....overkill?

we are remodeling our kitchen and purchased a 36" pro range from Jenn air to replace a gas cooktop and double oven. would it be an overkill to keep the double ovens with the new Jenn air range?. the double ovens are only 5 years old and look brand new, see pic below. My designer said she doesn't like double oven - they kill the "look" of the kitchen but i thought for resale value. we have a big kitchen so space isn't an issue....I would love them over to the other side of the kitchen. would love to hear your thoughts!

I had double ovens at my old house. Oh I miss them so, so much. I am planning to get a range with doubles ovens below for this house, when I get the money. Nothing better for baking and holiday cooking. I understand you don't need the space. Maybe you will start a baking business when you retire....? However if you don't cook or bake then why have appliances that you will never use? Sell them on Craigslist or give them to someone who will love and use them.

Unless you are a chef it is overkill. But since you already have them, why not?

The double ovens are nice, but yes they are overkill. Unless you bake a whole lot. And if you do, I'll be over for a nice plate of cookies!

BTW, having ovens by the refrigerator are kind of an appliance no-no. The heat from the ovens are hard on the refrigerator, so I've heard.

thank you Kathi!!! - i don't cook or back but i LOVE the look of the bigger gas ranges and i thgt for resale b/c i have them. i would love the double ovens away from the frig and place them on the other end of the kitchen. thanks for your input!!!

I bake a lot so I'd understand keeping them all, but that' is ALOT of oven, lol. If you could arrange them so that a person doesn't see all the ovens at once, that'd be better.

One extra oven is more than plenty, sell them and have more storage instead.

I agree with Jan Moyer... unless you bake all the time and have an enormous family. Try to sell them through your local re-sale shop. I would NEVER use Craigslist... and, I would not want strangers coming to my home to see them.

No I bought the 36 inch pro range because it looked pretty. The double ovens don't look great but I thought they might work for resale

Well since you already have them, why not move them to the other side. Maybe whoever buys the house will be a home caterer. I know someone who put extra ovens in the garage to handle her pie business.

I have that exact appliance combo I use them all when doing dinner parties or big family dinners and I also like some things cooked in a gas oven and others in electric so keep them
